la scuola romana

In the early 1970s, the Italian song repertoire benefited from the influx of a new group of Roman songwriters who moved their first steps in the famous club Folkstudio in the heart of Trastevere, where years ago the as yet little-known Bob Dylan had performed. The many stylistic (Dylan, Cohen) and ideological (political commitment) affinities shared by the artists originated the definition of a “Roman school” of songwriters. In addition to the first representatives of the school, the playlist includes artists who were born in or emigrated to the capital during the decade.
