Over 44 years (1964-2008), the Festivalbar, conceived by Vittorio Salvetti, was a summer showcase featuring hits of the moment and subjecting them to a voting system initially based on the jukebox (songs were selected by the public). This important TV show was responsible for launching the summer’s tormentoni (one-hit wonders) and – as an itinerant event whose final evening was often staged at the impressive Arena of Verona – bringing prestige to the many touristic localities of the Peninsula.
