canzoni italiane del mondo

The collection spans a century (from the late nineteenth century to 1980) of Italian and Neapolitan songs sung in other languages: not only in English, Spanish and French – for traditionally more receptive markets – but also in German, Russian, Chinese and Japanese. In these and many other languages, melodies created in our country have met with such favour as to be recorded by local artists, some of whom were great international stars such as the likes of Elvis Presley, Dean Martin, the Mills Brothers and Mireille Mathieu.
