Con te partirò

The long and successful trajectory of Con te partirò began on February 21, 1995, at the Festival of San Remo, where Andrea Bocelli competed with the champions and came fourth place at the end of the event. The song began its slow but inexorable rise from that stage to becoming the number one bestseller for 43 weeks overall in France, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, Germany and Ireland, although in Italy, the same song as a single was not particularly successful. Then. when Bocelli recorded it in English with the soprano Sarah Brightman, under the title Time to Say Goodbye, the song flew to the top of the international charts once and for all, with sales reaching the astounding number of 12 million copies throughout the world. Bocelli then recorded it in Spanish (Por ti volaré), after which it was used in movies, TV series and advertising spots.
